Enable Hire is heavily involved in supporting businesses working towards delivering the UK Government’s Net Zero Strategy.

We have supplied plant, tools and welfare facilities for contractors working rapidly to provide entirely new infrastructure for low and zero-carbon technologies, such as a national network of electric vehicle (EV) charging points on petrol station forecourts. And we also have wide experience in the rail sector, where we work with partners focused on ensuring that the railway of the future not only carries more passengers and freight, but also becomes even more energy-efficient, maximising its huge potential as a low-carbon form of transport.

As a responsible business, we recognise that we, too, have to play our own part by reducing reliance on fossil fuels and by switching to low-carbon or even zero-carbon options wherever possible. That, in turn, helps all our hire customers reduce their own carbon footprint.

Enable Hire offers a huge range of products that includes everything from specialised rail tools through to ultra-modern welfare vans and trailers, from immaculately maintained diggers to fleet management services, and from battery-powered hand tools to environmental monitoring equipment. We are working hard to incorporate low-carbon solutions into that line-up wherever we can. All our plant can already run on HVO biofuel as well as ordinary white diesel. Our site lighting line-up includes several low-consumption LED solutions. Come to us for standalone solar hybrid power generators. And in plant hire, we even now offer an option to specify an electric (EV) telehandler.

When it comes to eco-friendly welfare, we are the acknowledged experts: all our vans, trailers and static units have energy efficiency built in and are HVO-ready. Many also offer hybrid power, topping up batteries with a solar panel. For the ultimate, there’s our ZERO CO2 hydrogen-powered welfare trailer.
